Friendly Visitor Program
Volunteers are matched with socially isolated seniors with whom they visit for at least an hour each week year-round
TARGET POPULATION
Residents of Alexandria, 60 years and older, who may not have family or friends living in the community.
SOCIAL ISOLATION OR CONNECTION MEASURES USED
Checking in with the volunteers and seniors periodically. Impact study a few years ago which demonstrated the unique value of this program.
